This foundational HVAC course offers a rigorous introduction to the skills needed for a career in heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration. Students will learn to safely install, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC systems in a variety of settings. Key modules cover an introduction to HVAC, trade mathematics, basic electricity, fundamentals of heating and cooling, air distribution systems, piping techniques (copper, plastic, and carbon steel), and soldering and brazing. This course marks the first year of a comprehensive four-year HVAC apprenticeship program that meets DOLI standards and is recognized by North American Technician Excellence (NATE).
