Cake Decorating for Beginners

• This 3-time, 4-hour class will be held at the Plum Center,

• Students will work with others in small groups.

• The class has space for up to 12 people, so everyone gets a chance to learn and practice.

• Be ready to stand, cook, and work during the class.

• For your safety and comfort, please bring apron, wear closed-toe shoes and tie back long hair.

• Decorating supplies are not included.  Please use the following Class Supply List to purchase supplies prior class. 

Learning Outcomes: By the end of this course, students will be able to:

• Prepare and level a cake for decorating
• Learn how to make buttercream icing
• Create smooth and even layers of buttercream on a cake
• Use piping bags to create a variety of standard designs and decorations
• Apply standard design principles to create visually appealing cake designs
• Use standard cake decorating tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Able to produce a professional looking cake
