Emergency Medical Technician

EMTs need to be 16 years old at the start of class in order to be certified. EMTs often work flexible schedules so getting certified while still in high school allows for summer and weekend job opportunities. EMT course graduates interested in future Paramedic training would already have the EMT certification prerequisite and experience working in the field to help pay for college.

Next session starts in June and will fill fast. Choose the class to fit your schedule.

Certified Nurse Aide

CNAs should be at least 16 in order to work in long-term care (nursing home) facilities and within hospitals that admit patients into rehabilitation units. These facilities are always hiring for evening, weekend and summer positions, making this a perfect summer learning opportunity for future employment or studies. CNAs can use their skills and experience towards a nursing or other medical degree, specialize as a geriatric care manager or build towards nursing home administration.

Next session starts in June and will fill fast.

Ayuda para la salud en el hogar / Home Health Aide

Home Health Aides/Personal Care Aides are in high demand and should be at least 18 in order to work. As a flexible employment pathway, aides can work for home health agencies while studying for nursing or other medical degrees. This class is taught with bilingual Spanish/English instructors and with an available Spanish or English textbook. Language support for other languages is limited.

Several evening sessions are currently available for spring semester or summer learning. Choose the class to fit your schedule.
