Electricians install and maintain electrical systems in homes, businesses, and commercial structures according to state and local codes. This is the second class of a comprehensive four-level curriculum that complies with DOLI standards for apprenticeship. Curriculum is nationally recognized and certified by NCCER. Level two modules include: alternating current, motors, lighting, conduit bending, pull and junction boxes, conductor installations, cable tray, conductor terminations and splices, grounding and bonding, circuit breakers and fuses, and control systems.
Classes meet twice a week, in a virtual format, for the stated hours. Mid-term and final grades are reported electronically to sponsor employers with a FERPA form on file with ACE. Payment plan applications must be received two weeks before the class start date. Registration closes at 5:00 PM on the Thursday before class begins. A laptop or tablet is highly recommended. Required textbook: Students must purchase digital or print textbook with NCCERConnect code from the NCCER bookstore and have a copy of the NEC 2020. Book Edition will be sent prior to class.
