Curious about American Mahjongg but not sure where to start? This three-session beginner course is designed to take you from the basics to confident, strategic play in a supportive and fun environment.

Class 1: The Basics
Learn the fundamentals of American Mahjongg, including the tiles, equipment, table setup, the Charleston, reading the card, and basic game flow. No prior experience required.
Class 2: Playing With Direction
Build on the basics as we play full games. You’ll spend more time playing mahjong while reinforcing proper procedures, hand selection techniques, and etiquette.
Class 3: Strategy & Confident Play
Move beyond mechanics into more confident play. Learn how use the Charleston for more than building your hand, when to pivot your hand, how to use jokers effectively, tips for defense and observation, and game variations to play with fewer players.

By the end of the series, students will be comfortable playing a complete game of American Mahjongg and ready to join open play or social games.
