HVAC 4

HVAC 4 advances students’ expertise with a focus on complex systems, efficiency, and leadership within the field. Key modules include water treatment, indoor air quality, energy conservation technologies, building management systems, system air balancing, startup and shutdown procedures, interpreting construction drawings and specifications, and heating/cooling system design. Additional topics cover commercial and industrial refrigeration, alternative and specialized HVAC systems, and the fundamentals of crew leadership. This capstone course completes a four-level HVAC apprenticeship program that meets DOLI standards and is recognized by North American Technician Excellence (NATE).

Classes meet twice a week, once in person and once virtually, for the stated hours. Final grades are reported electronically to sponsor employers with a FERPA form on file with ACE.  Registration closes at 12:00 PM on the Friday before class begins. A laptop or tablet is required to access digital class materials. 

Required textbook: Students must purchase digital or print textbook with NCCERConnect code from the NCCER bookstore and the Book Edition will be sent prior to class.
